Obituary for Carol Schwartzkopf
Carol Elizabeth Schwartzkopf, 79, of Gering, died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Heritage Estates in Gering. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Her memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at Jolliffe Funeral Home in Scottsbluff with Pastor Dale Brown officiating. She requested casual attire be worn in her honor. Inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials in Carol’s honor be made in care of Waggin Tails Shelter at 980 E 11th Avenue in Torrington, WY, 82240. Carol was born Feb 3, 1938 in Scottsbluff to Carl and Judith Wells Olbricht. She married Lee Schwartzkopf in 1954 and they made their home in Gering. The owned and operated Kawasaki Korner for almost 50 years.
Carol had compassion for all animals and put her family before all else in her life. Her favorite color was purple and she loved carnations and roses. She was a member of Salem Congregational Church, and enjoyed yard work, gardening, handiwork, and mostly spending time with family.
Carol is survived by her children Deb (Rodney) Schutte, Mike Schwartzkopf, Denna (Terry) Pugmire, and Levi Schwartzkopf; brother Donald Olbricht; sisters Connie (Curtis) Ernst and Sandee Price; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Her parents, husband Lee, son A.C., and brother Dick Olbricht preceded her in death.
